Rome has come to Britain.
Lead Rome's invasion of Britain in a third-person strategy RPG. Fight, build, trade and conquer in a living world that keeps moving with or without you.

solo-developed and self-funded
Single-player by design
Britannia is not a stage waiting for the player. Its workers gather, its craftspeople produce, its caravans travel and its factions pursue their own campaigns.
You experience that strategy from the ground: fighting in third person, taking your place in the invasion and deciding which settlements, people and supply lines to defend, command or disrupt.
The living world
People, resources and territory are connected. A decision made in one settlement can change the strength of another days later.
Workers keep their professions and experience. Losing a skilled craftsperson or veteran changes what a settlement can produce and defend.
Food, materials and equipment are produced locally and carried between settlements by physical caravans. Protect a supply line—or cut one before an attack.
Conquest changes ownership, population, production and military strength—not just a colour on the map.
One world, two perspectives
The campaign map is built from the same landscape the player travels through. Its terrain is transformed into a restrained Roman military map, while settlements, armies and campaign information are added dynamically as Britannia changes.
The terrain overview compresses the whole landmass into one frame; the roads, forests and settlements shown elsewhere resolve at ground level as you travel.

Steam Next Fest · October 19, 2026
The free demo is planned for October 19, 2026 during Steam Next Fest, offering a first look at the combat, settlement and living-world foundations.
Enter the invasion from a third-person perspective.
Explore settlement streets and working interiors.
Follow how people, supplies and control affect the wider settlement.
One settlement, two scales
Settlements are simulated at campaign scale, but the player inhabits them from an over-the-shoulder perspective. What changes in the economy becomes visible in the street.
Captured from a work-in-progress build. Visuals and interface are still being refined.

Inside the current build
Move from streets and markets into the buildings around them. Settlement interiors, campaign information, soldiers and local trade all belong to the same playable world.

From alpha to demo
The core simulation is playable and the current developer build contains roughly ten hours of gameplay. Development is focused on integration, performance, presentation, balance and continued stability testing.

The developer
I'm Zeno Ferenczi, the solo developer behind Invasion of Britannia.
I have independently funded and built the project for four years, personally writing nearly all of its code. The goal has always been an ambitious single-player world where the player is part of a larger system, not the switch that turns it on.
Hearth & History Games is the home for that work: historically grounded games built around the people, economies and decisions that make a world feel alive.
Zeno FerencziSupport the campaign
If this is the kind of single-player game you want to see, wishlisting it is the most useful way to support one developer building it right now.
Steam is the official home for the game. The free demo is planned for October 19, 2026 during Steam Next Fest.
